the back bay

on wednesday, shelby and i met up with sarah (nugent) sweggles for a walk and then lunch. we trekked in the wild flowers at the back bay and had fun watching shelby explore snails, the dirt, flowers, sticks, etc. and trying to keep up with her as she ran. she told us herself, “i have a lot of energy!” if we could just bottle that up and sell it, we’d never have to work again . here are some pics (of shelbs of course) from our exploration…

So, many of you may know that I come from a family with 7 kids. Yep, 7! 6 of us are girls and the 2nd to last is a boy. Well, my one and only bro PJ and his adorably cute wife, Jackie, asked me to take a shot at their family christmas picture. Well, with 2 active kiddos (Jeremiah & Ava Jane), the shoot didn’t last very long, but I believe we were able to capture a bit of what this family is all about – being together, loving each other, and supporting one another. Check out some of my favorites from the shoot…

I LOVE this one! I think the kids look just like themselves! I can just see Jeremiah’s energy here.

Suzanne McKay, one of my best friends from high school, just moved back here to Orange County from Texas with her hubby Aron, and kiddos Maggie and Curren. It is so fun to do daily life together and have play dates and such! I love this family and was honored when Suzanne asked me to take their family Christmas picture. Here are some of the highlights from our shoot together!

halloween!

For halloween we went to our friends’ (Roger and Shellie Riley) house in San Clemente. We weren’t planning on being in the States for this holiday, so it kinda snuck up on us. Lindsey and I didn’t have time to get costumes for ourselves, but at least Grandma Nancy came through with the monkey suit for little Shelbs. We trick-or-treated around the Riley’s neighborhood and Shelby quickly got the hang of it. The main thing she has to remember before becoming a professional trick-or-treater, is that you don’t sit down on the step of each house and eat the candy you just received. Live and learn kiddo, live and learn.
